Directions To Marriott LAX
For those driving locally the following are basic details to the hotel. If you are traveling from out of state by plane to the airports, it is suggested that you familiarize yourself with the LA map prior to departure.
Parking
Self-parking at the Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel during World Fantasy Convention 2019 is $15.00 per day, for both day-trippers as well as overnight hotel guests! Valet parking is also available at standard hotel rates.
Hotel Guests: Park your car in the Marriott lot; bring your white parking ticket with you to hotel check-in. You will be given instructions by hotel desk staff on in-and-out privileges for your car, and will pay the $15.00/day rate as part of your hotel bill.
Day-trippers: Park your car in the Marriott lot and be sure to keep your white parking ticket. Visit the Convention Information kiosk (next to the elevators on the convention center level) for a green Validation ticket. When you are ready to leave the premises, as you drive out of the parking lot, insert your white card first into the automated parking valet, then your green validation card which will reduce your rate to $15.00/day; you can then pay directly to the automated valet. Cash and credit card are welcome at the automated terminal.
IMPORTANT! If the Marriott’s regular lot is full, the hotel may open up its underground garage for additional parking; in this case, you may be asked to pre-pay for your parking (if you are a day-tripper; hotel guests should let them know you are staying at the Marriott.) Be sure to note at the time that you are with World Fantasy Convention 2019 and you will be asked to pre-pay the $15.00 rate.
Transportation From LAX
The Marriott Los Angeles Airport Hotel runs blue and black courtesy vans approximately every 20 minutes between the hotel and Los Angeles International Airport. These courtesy vans are operated free of charge.
When departing from the arrivals terminal (lower level) please make sure you look for signs that indicate hotel courtesy shuttles. For many LAX terminals, it will be on the median under a RED sign; however, LAX is currently undergoing initial construction on a multi-year expansion project so be sure to pay attention to the signs. Please ensure the shuttle you board says LAX MARRIOTT or MARRIOTT LAX; do not board shuttles for other hotel properties!
Rideshare & Taxi: Note that as of the start of World Fantasy Convention 2019, LAX no longer permits taxis and rideshare companies (Uber & Lyft) to pick up riders at the arrivals terminals. It is therefore best to use the courtesy shuttles only. Rideshare shuttles pick up riders every 10 minutes to be taken to an external rideshare pick-up lot beyond Terminal 1.
